I started doing photography seriously in my early 20's, after I got out of the Navy and was attending Santa Rosa Junior College. I had my own darkroom and souped all my own stuff, made prints, exploring different techniques, film and cameras. Eventually, my darkroom became a nursery and I didn't have much time to spend hovering over an enlarger. Fast forward to 1985: I had quit my job of 11 years in retail management and was aching to do something creative. I opened a custom frame shop and gallery on 12th Street and Northern Avenue in Phoenix, and eventually started taking pictures again. In the meantime, I had the incredible experience to work with art every day for twenty five years, take classes in art history and photography. The gallery has flourished and we have moved several times, and are now located in a 5000 square foot facility in the Cinema Park Center at 7th Street and Missouri. We have an amazing staff and have been together for many years, and I am proud of the work we produce. In addition to custom framing, we do our own fine art printing, as well as printing for other artists and our regular retail clientele, and carry the work of many talented local artists in addition to my photography. We'd love to show you around. Please drop by and visit!
